2018 MEADOW BROOK SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
All programs are Thursdays from 7:00pm – 9:30pm
July 12: Dave Bennett
A multi-instrument phenomenon, Dave Bennett is a self-taught clarinet virtuoso who plays electric guitar, piano, drums and vocalizes. In addition to his own music, he covers music from the Swing Era to early Rockabilly and Country, to Elvis Presley, the Beatles and more.
August 2: Ben Sharkey
Perfectly fusing vintage old school cool and contemporary jazz, soul and pop energy and swagger, Ben Sharkey has enjoyed an extraordinary dual career over the past ten years. The Michigan native has also become one of the Motor City’s premiere live entertainers, with hundreds of performances at jazz hotspots like Cliff Bell’s and a five year and counting residency at the Axis Lounge at the MGM Grand Detroit.
August 16: Kimmie Horne
As a descendant of the legendary songstress and actor Lena Horne, and niece of the late great singer/songwriter Cleveland Horne of the “Fantastic Four”, it is no surprise that Kimmie Horne’s talent transcends the boundaries of impeccable vocals alone. Kimmie’s songs, “I Hope You Dance,” and special arrangement of “I Will Survive,” demonstrate the undoubted blend of her talent and sophistication.
THE SUMMER CONCERT SERIES FEATURES:
Hors d’oeuvres and a full cash bar
Self-guided main floor tour of The Hall (available until the first intermission)
Will occur rain or shine
Tickets are $35 per person.
